1. Repair Estimates & Authorization

Before beginning any repair reasonably expected to cost more than $50.00, Exotic Auto Repair And Transmission LLC ("the Shop," "we," "us") will provide a written estimate itemizing the work to be performed and its cost, consistent with New York's motor vehicle repair shop regulations (General Business Law Article 12-A and 15 NYCRR Part 82). We will not exceed that estimate without your separate authorization, which we obtain by text message, phone, or in person before any additional work begins. You have the right to request a written estimate and to decline any work not already authorized.

Upon completion of service, you will receive an itemized invoice describing the work performed, parts used (new, used, or reconditioned, as applicable), and all charges. Replaced parts will be made available for your inspection or return upon request unless you waive that right in writing, as permitted by law.

2. Shop Registration & Licensing

Exotic Auto Repair And Transmission LLC is registered as a motor vehicle repair shop with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, as required by law for any shop that charges for repairs of more than $50.00.

3. Payment, Storage & Lien Rights

Payment is due upon completion of authorized work unless other arrangements are made in writing in advance. Vehicles left for repair, diagnosis, or storage remain the Shop's responsibility to safeguard with reasonable care, but the Shop is not an insurer of the vehicle or its contents.

Under New York Lien Law (Article 9), a repair shop that furnishes labor or materials for a motor vehicle at the owner's request has a lien on that vehicle for the agreed or reasonable value of the work, and may retain possession of the vehicle until the amount owed is paid. If a vehicle is not picked up and payment is not made, New York law provides a specific process — including notice requirements and, in some cases, a waiting period — before a lienholder may sell the vehicle to satisfy the debt. The Shop will not attempt to enforce a lien sale without following that statutory process exactly, and should have counsel confirm the current notice and timing requirements before ever doing so — getting this wrong can itself create liability.

4. Warranties & Limitation of Liability

Any warranty on parts or labor will be stated in writing at the time of service and is limited to its stated terms. Manufacturer warranties on new parts, where applicable, are passed through to the customer per the manufacturer's terms. Except as required by law, the Shop disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, to the fullest extent New York law permits — New York does not allow a business to disclaim certain protections available to consumers under General Business Law §349 (deceptive acts and practices) or the implied warranty of merchantability in some consumer transactions, and nothing in these terms should be read as attempting to waive rights that cannot be waived under New York law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Shop's liability for any claim arising from services performed is limited to the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. The Shop is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (such as lost use of a vehicle), except where such limitation is prohibited by law.

5. Website Terms of Use

This website and its content (text, images, logos, and design) are the property of Exotic Auto Repair And Transmission LLC or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission. Information on this site, including pricing and membership details, is provided for general reference and is subject to change without notice; the price you are quoted directly for your specific vehicle and service controls. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under New York consumer protection law, including General Business Law §349.

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
